The Game Agency

It's been nearly four months since my last blog post and I promise my loyal readers (all .5 of you) that my absence comes with good reason. About four months ago, I started my own company (The Game Agency) and things have been hectic as all hell (how hectic is hell really?) since then.

The Game Agency creates new intellectual property, develops branded games and increases the reach of existing content. In just a few months, things have really gotten off the ground and at this point we have some very interesting projects in our pipeline, none of which include Super Chick Sisters for PETA(http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/superchicksisters/index.asp).

So, what are we doing you ask... I know you didn't ask but I thought this might be a good segway.

We recently completed two projects:
- "Lexus – ISF Track Time" for Atari (www.atari.com/rfactor)
- "The Deal fo the Day" widgets for Toys R Us

Current Projects include
- Representing Sony on In-Game Advertising for “Rat Race”, Sony's upcoming episodic sitcom
- Producing two retail games (Project Runway and Wow Wow Wubbzy)
- Representing Interactive Game Group on In-Game Advertising sales for “Project Runway” and “Tennis”

Upcoming Projects include
- An anime style video games, films, comic books and playing cards for IBM
- A consulting agreement with Ketchum PR firms to act as their gaming arm
- Custom games for Geek Squad, BP and Texas Instruments

All in all, things are really taking off... Now all we (my partner Joe and I) need is a staff to help us make each project a total success...

BuyMyBrownstone.Com

In 2002, my friend David and I were going to create a website called BuyMyBrownstone.com. Interestingly enough, the URL is still available. We were going to try to raise $5,000,000 by posting a sob story about how we are two upper-middle class New Yorkers who simply couldn't afford the brownstone that our wives and children need... Our thought was, if 21 year old Alex Tew from Wiltshire, England could raise $1,000,000 dollars by selling pixels on http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/, we could raise $5,000,000 for our building. Granted, he was raising the money to pay for college and then set his parents up for life (a slightly better story) but we wanted our brownstone, dammit. 5 years later, I am still struggling with how I can raise the money. Is there a catch that would get people to give?

Simsponizing Lindsay Lohan

The other night I was playing around with http://www.simpsonizeme.com/. This website offers good-old, clean-ish, wholesome fun! It;s not the most accurate tool but one I could use over and over again. I mean really, who wouldn't want to see themselves as a Simpson? Lindsay Lohan wouldn't... After I altered my picture and Liane's picture, I tried Lindsay's (not that I have 500 sitting around my apartment or anything)... It wasn't pretty. By the time I was done she looked more like a pouty, partying, pregnant, alcoholic than the innocent princess she is. Funny how that happened.

Hello Toes!

This morning Liane (my wife) and I were walking to the train when we noticed a little baby in his stroller with his feet sticking up in the air... Immediately Liane said "Hello Toes"... a saying that we both attribute to Sir Daniel Fortune. It was a touching moment. It's times like this that I remember back to my days of innocence and worry-free childhood. Oh... to live like that again.

So, here's to all the toes out there. May we each wiggle them, giggle them and boogie like it's going out of style. Below is a link from a recent Atari Lionel Richie party. I encourage you to watch through 3:45. As you can see, I still have a little bit of love for Lionel in me... http://youtube.com/watch?v=vcbTzAY0A8Y

Blogging 101

Last night I was out to dinner with my friends Christa and Dan. Somehow, we got on the topic of blogging and Dan asked me if I've been reading Christa's blog. As a branding guy, I am ashamed to say that I didn't even notice the blog address perfectly displayed in her e-mail signature. Shows how unobservant I can be sometimes...

After logging onto my e-mail this morning, and linking to her site, I read her most recent entry about worrying. As a professional worrier, I felt compelled to comment. And then it hit me... I should create my own blog immediately. After all, how much longer will stephenbaer@blogspot be available?

So, here goes. Lady and gentlemen (notice the singular tense, as I don't expect more than two people to ever read this) welcome to my blog. Here within, I will comment on some of the most critical topics known to man, including:
- Lindsay Lohan
- Video Games
- Running Turtles
- Oberlin College
- My Family

I certainly encourage your feedback.

More to come,
SBR
